The lamp is part of the Nelson Bubble Lamp series, designed by American industrial designer George Nelson in 1947. The Propeller model has a distinctive shape due to the recessed ends of the shade. The shade casts a soft, even light.

The frame of the shade is made of steel wire that is coated with a translucent plastic polymer.

The Nelson Bubble Lamp collection offers several sizes as well as designs.
