Designed by George Nelson and his team, the Ball clock has become an icon of 1950s design, unmistakably recognisable by its metal construction topped with coloured balls and distinctive arrow-shaped raffle. In its day, the clock was known to be present in every interior design photograph and advertising material. Therefore, further variations on this successful design did come right after. Initially, a collection of 14 pieces of distinctive table and wall clocks was created. Vitra gradually began to turn Nelson's other designs into reality; among the more than two dozen we can name the Sunburst clock, which resembles the sun's rays.
