American designer Bill Curry's debut design, the Stemlite lamp, was named the most influential lamp of the year by Industrial Design Magazine just three years after its launch. It remained in production until 1977. Almost half a century later, it has been remastered by a Danish brand GUBI.
When designing the lamps, Curry was inspired by the space age and nature. Their design consists of a simple, slender metal base resembling a tulip stem, topped with a blown glass globe. The original lamp was used on the set of the Star Trek television series. Now, you can use it in both modern and traditional interiors.
