In 1962, Bill Curry was an example of a young designer who brought new influences into a pioneering organic space-age aesthetic. His debut design, the Stemlite Collection, was named the most influential lamp of the year by Industrial Design Magazine in 1965.
The lamp remained in production until 1977. Nearly half a century later, the collection has been remastered by Gubi. The new series includes table lamps, floor lamps, wall lamps as well as pendants in a modern but authentic colour palette. When designing the lamps, Curry was inspired by the space age and nature. Their design consists of a simple, slender metal base resembling a tulip stem that is topped with a blown glass globe.
The original Curry lamp was used on the set of the StarTrek television series. Now, you can complement both modern and traditional interiors with it.
