The lamp is part of the Nelson Bubble Lamp series, designed by American industrial designer George Nelson in 1947. The Angled Sphere model brings gently sloping lines to the organic, floating shape typical for the whole collection. The lamp casts a soft, even light.
The frame of the shade is made of steel wire, which is coated with a translucent plastic polymer. When used in conjunction with a wall-mounted dimmer and a suitable LED bulb, the lamp can be dimmable.
