Portable Lamp is a part of the Hashira collection, which consists of various Japanese-style lamp designs. The elegant line was designed by Norm Architects for the Danish brand Audo. The cylindrical shape of the lamps is inspired by traditional Japanese lanterns and the name of the Hashira collection, which means column in Japanese, is also in the same spirit.
The lamps are handmade from linen, which diffuses pleasant warm light. When lit, a stabilizing grid is visible, which gives the design a certain structure. A dimmer switch controls the brightness.
The Hashira portable lamp is charged via a hidden USB socket for 7 hours and can then stay lit at full intensity for around 11 hours. At half intensity, it lasts around 16 hours and at its lowest setting it can shine for up to 45 hours.
