Together with the Egg Chair and the Drop Chair, the Swan Chair was designed for lobby and lounge areas of the SAS Hotel Royal in Copenhagen. Arne Jacobsen perfected the shapes of all the icons to the very last detail using clay casts in his garage in Klampenborg, north of Copenhagen.
In its era, the Swan Chair was seen as a revolutionary technological innovation, free of any sharp edges or straight lines. Rotating on a swivel aluminium base, the body of the chair consists of a pressed shell made of synthetic material.
Swan Chairs are available in a wide range of upholstered covers or leather.
