Orient pendant lamps were designed in 1963 by Danish designer Jo Hammerborg. Exactly 50 years later, in 2013, they were relaunched by Lightyears, now part of Fritz Hansen.

The design of the Orient luminaires is characterised by its high luminous efficiency, even though the light source itself is ingeniously hidden inside. It emits a pleasant, soft light that does not glare unnecessarily.
 
The luminaires are precisely handcrafted from the finest materials. The shade is made of lacquered, wood-moulded aluminium. Its top is made of rosewood, which gives the luminaire an exotic touch.
