TheEames DAX (Dining Height Armchair X-Base) was designed by designers and husband and wife team Charles and Ray Eames back in the 1950s. Their intention was to create a chair that was durable and easy to handle, while at the same time adapting perfectly to the human body. These requirements materialised in a chair that has over time become a true icon of modern design. The chair is designed to find a perfect application in the home, but also in the office or in public spaces.
All Eames chairs are characterised by a contoured seat that adapts perfectly and offers comfortable seating thanks to the armrests. The DAX variant also features a standard steel base that combines simple elegance with real structural strength.
In addition to the re-edition in fibreglass, the Vitra Eames chair is nowadays manufactured in solid polypropylene. The chair is available in several colour variants, which you can choose from a swatch book where you can also choose from three colours for the steel structure. Likewise, you can choose the seat padding design from the swatch book, which is made of high quality Hopsak fabric in 35 colours. Please specify your choice in the order notes.
As standard, the chairs are supplied with glides for hard floors (if you would like glides for carpet, please specify this in the notes).
