In the 1950s, designers Charles and Ray Eames developed an innovative collection of freestanding, multifunctional shelves and tables. Like their previous designs, these followed the principles of industrial production.
In collaboration with the Eames office and Dutch designer Hella Jongerius, a new colour scheme was carefully chosen to give ESU and EDU a fresh and modern look while celebrating the spirit of the 1940s and 1950s. The Eames ESU & EDU collection also offers several shelf designs.
The structure is made of black painted steel in contrast to the wooden parts, which are finished in birch wood. The coloured panels come in multiple shades (see gallery preview) and are made of aluminium.
