The Troll vase is based on an extensive study of the properties of glass, in which Danish designers focused on how the colour of glass changes in relation to its thickness. The result is a vase that has a wider amber-coloured glass base at the bottom and the glass tapers upwards into a delicate thin layer shaped like a dome. The vase is hand blown and each piece is therefore an absolute original.
The name of the vase is inspired by a painting by the famous Norwegian artist Theodor Kittelsen from 1892 of a mythical figure, a water spirit named Nøkken, rising from the depths of a forest pond. The colouring and shape of the Troll vase is a unique expression of the painting of this Norwegian great.
However, the vase is ultimately a modern take on glass in which both live and dried flowers stand out beautifully. Combine the L size vase with other sizes from the Troll Vase collection.
