Arne Jacobsen designed a chair called "Model 3107" as a variation and development of the Ant. In doing so, he used a technology invented by Charles and Ray Eames that allows plywood to be bent under pressure in three directions.
Today, the Series 7 collection is by far the best-selling chair in Fritz Hansen's history and possibly the best-selling chair ever: over 5 million units have been sold.
