Born in Brittany, brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec are graduates of the École Nationale des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and the École des Beaux-Arts in Cergy-Pontoise. Ronan began independent design work immediately after graduation, while his brother, who was still at school, assisted him.
Since 1999, the two brothers have worked together in their own design studio in Paris. Their work ranges from small utilitarian objects to larger architectural projects. In addition to designing home and office furniture, vases, porcelain tableware, jewellery and various home accessories, their work focuses primarily on the conception and realisation of interior spaces. Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec have contributed significantly to the expansion of the collection of brands such as Vitra and HAY.
