Arne Jacobsen created the Drop chairs as part of his masterpiece, the legendary SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. The chairs, which were designed exclusively for the hotel, were originally produced together with the Swan and Egg chair collections, but only in very limited numbers.
After more than 50 years of "hibernation", the production of Drop chairs was relaunched by Fritz Hansen in 2014. Since its launch, the chair has been a great success, selling over 25,000 units worldwide. The design of the Drop chair was one of Arne Jacobsen's personal favourites.
Today, the chair is available in various colours: plastic, upholstered or even leather. The legs are made of powder-coated or chrome-plated steel with black glides.
