The Eames RAR (Rocking Armchair Rod) was designed by designers and husband and wife team Charles and Ray Eames in the 1950s to produce a chair that would adapt perfectly to the human body while being durable and easy to handle. These requirements have materialised in a chair whose shape has become an icon of modern design over the years. The chair is designed to be used at home, in the office and in public spaces.
In addition to the re-edition in fibreglass, the Vitra Eames chair is now manufactured in solid polypropylene. The chair is available in several colour options. This rocking chair combines a typically shaped seat, which offers comfortable seating thanks to the armrests, with rockers in dark maple.
