TheEames DAX (Dining Height Armchair X-Base) was designed by designers and husband and wife team Charles and Ray Eames back in the 1950s. Their intention was to create a chair that was durable and easy to handle, while at the same time adapting perfectly to the human body. These requirements materialised in the fibreglass chair, which over time has become a true icon of modern design. The chair is designed to find a perfect application in the home, but also in the office or in public spaces.
All Eames chairs are characterised by a contoured seat that adapts perfectly and offers comfortable seating thanks to the armrests. The DAX variant also features a standard steel base that combines simple elegance with real structural strength. The design is in the form of a black lacquered base. The chair can also be supplied in a variant with a chrome-plated base. In addition to the re-edition in fibreglass, the Vitra Eames chair is now manufactured in solid polypropylene. Please specify your choice of base in the order notes.
As standard, the chairs are supplied with glides for hard flooring (if you would like glides for carpet, please specify this requirement in the notes).
