TheEames Fiberglass DSW (Dining Sidechair Wood ) chair was designed by designers and husband and wife team Charles and Ray Eames in the 1950's to produce a chair that conforms perfectly to the human body while being durable and easy to handle. These requirements have materialized in the fiberglass chair, which has become an icon of modern design over the years. The chair is designed to be used at home, in the office and in public spaces.
The fibreglass shell is characterised by an irregular structure that looks almost like a natural material, as the glass fibres are clearly visible.
All Eames chairs are characterised by a shaped seat that adapts perfectly to the human body. The DSW variant has a solid ash wood base (65), other variants such as 02 golden maple, 95 dark maple or 30 black maple, on request.
Eames Fiberglass was the first mass-produced shell chair. The fibreglass shell variant is now being released by Vitra for the first time in 20 years.
