Designer Dawn Sweitzer, originally from Belgium, draws from the heritage of Irish-Italian influence and her numerous trips, especially around the European continent. Her love of design and all things beautiful made her devote herself to art as a self-taught person. She later transformed this passion into a profession when she founded the Notre Monde brand, which now operates under the Ethnicraft brand.

When designing furniture, lighting and design accessories, she uses traditional techniques that she honors and enriches with new ideas and a contemporary perspective. She was also inspired by the different customs of the cultures in whose presence she spent some time before settling in America. In particular, they try to underline what quality life means for individual communities and how they achieve it.
