Jan Rabell established the Brokis company in 2006. Yet, because Brokis manufacturing is based on the principles of the Janštejn glassworks, which were established in the early 19th century, its historical origins go back almost two centuries. The company's superior technological know-how enables it to experiment and lead the industry in innovation. In the cutting-edge designs, hand-blown glass also combines with other materials like wood or manually pressed metal.
Brokis products are created by leading designers from the Czech and international scene. Among the well known are names like Lucie Koldová, Vrtiška and Žák, Boris Klimek, Dan Yeffet and many others.
It was Lucie Koldová and Dan Yeffet who created the Shadows collection, which is full of timelessly shaped luminaires with a sophisticatedly hidden light source in precision-crafted wood. This detail gives voice to the clean contours of the hand-blown shade. The Orbis collection is based on a similar principle and attracts with its flawless geometric proportions and ingenious play with light.
