The name of the New Works brand refers to the intention of the founders Nikolaj Meier and Knut Bednik Humlevik to create a place that provides space for experimentation and the creation of works with a completely new perspective.
Because of that New Works offers a narrow selection of thoughtful design pieces which, although they look like works of art, still remain more accessible than gallery pieces. With an emphasis on open design boundaries for products, the brand also selects its designers. Together, they focus on details, such as the tactility of each piece in harmony with the feeling radiated by its material.
One of the most significant pieces in the New Works portfolio is the Kizu lamp collection. Its two parts balance as if they weigh nothing. The delicate combination of marble and glass combines a pleasantly soft light and a sculptural look.
